Gavin, Jamila - Walking on My Hands

This is the story of Jamila Gavin’s teenage years. She came to London in the 1950s aged 13 and settled there with her mother and sister, leaving her father and brother in India. In this new environment and land of strange customs, Jamila often felt that things were upside down or back to front – as if she was walking on her hands.
